Club Rules

1. Membership and rod licence to be carried at all times when fishing and must be shown when asked by any other member who shows their membership.
​
2. Nets and slings to be dipped before fishing at Crockerton. All equipment to be thoroughly dried before moving between venues.
​
3. No litter, any litter in your swim even if it's not yours is your responsibility. Please pick it up. Anyone found littering might face a ban.
​
4. Barbless hooks only, except when fishing for pike/perch when semi barbed trebles may be used.
​
5. Un-hooking mats to be used when carp fishing.
​
6. Maximum of 2 rods on club waters.
​
7. Bait in moderation. No peas, nuts or beans.
​
8. No bait boats.
​
9. No Fires or barbecues.
​
10. No alcohol.
​
11. Treat all other water users, as you would expect them to treat you.
​
12. Night tickets to be collected in advance from Steve's Tackle. Maximum of six tickets per lake per night.
​
13. The half way rule applies at Crockerton. Please use common sense; a stray ledger weight could kill!!!!
​
14. Intimidation, abusive behaviour and bullying (including via social media) will not be tolerated and will result in a ban.
​
15. Comply with E.A rules and bylaws, and the law of the land at all times.
​
16. At Crockerton, use the toilet provided.
​
17. No posting false information or items to discredit the club on social media.
​
18. Where allowed, dogs to be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
​
19. Only live/dead bait caught at a water to be used at that water.
​
20. No loud music.
The Warminster and District Angling
Club
Established in 1961 to foster and promote the sport of angling
with rod and line at all levels and ages.

CONSTITUTION
1 TITLE
-
1.1 The Club shall be called “The Warminster and District Angling Club”, hereafter to be referred to as "the Club".
2 OBJECTIVES
-
2.1 To foster and promote the sport of angling with rod and line at all levels and ages.
3 MEMBERSHIP
-
3.1 The following are eligible for membership:
-
3.1.1 Membership of the Club shall be open to any person completing a membership application form, paying the relevant subscription and in possession of a current rod licence.

3.2 There shall be Five (5) Classes of membership available. These are:

3.2.1 Full Member. Members 18 to 64 Years of age (16th June to 15th June).

3.2.2 Half member Members 18 to 64 years of age (1st Jan to 15th June )

3.2.3 Junior Member Members 13 to 17 years of age, or a Member aged 12
years or less, members 12 years or less do not have a vote).

3.2.4 Concessionary Member. (Members over 65 Years of age or Blue badge holders).

3.2.5 Honorary Member. (Honorary Life membership).

3.3 The club has the right to refuse membership without giving reason.
4 OFFICERS
-
4.1 The Officers of the Club shall be as follows:

Treasurer }
5 ELECTION OF OFFICERS

5.1 All Officers shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Club, by the Members of the Club.

5.2 When required by a vacant position, the President and Vice President shall be elected by the members.

5.3 All other Officers are elected for a period of one year, but may be re-elected to the same office or another office the following year.
6 GENERAL COMMITTEE
-
6.1 The affairs of the Club shall be controlled by a General Committee comprising of the Executive Officers of the Club, seven (7) committee members, elected from, and by, the members of the Club. The General Committee shall meet at agreed intervals and not less than four times per year. The minimum number of committee members needed to hold a meeting is five (5) one of which shall be an executive member.

6.2 The duties of the General Committee shall be:

6.2.1 To control the affairs of the Club on behalf of the members.

6.2.2 To keep accurate accounts of the finances of the Club through the Treasurer. These should be available for reasonable inspection by members and should be inspected before every Annual General Meeting. The Club shall maintain a bank current account and the following officers shall be authorised to sign Club cheques and/or draw on the account: two (2) from the Chairperson, Treasurer and/or Secretary. Apart from rents and insurance any spending over £250 must be agreed at a full committee meeting.

6.2.3 To keep and maintain full and accurate records of the clubs business

6.2.4 If there are vacant positions on the committee, the committee have the right to co-opt willing members of the club onto the committee.
7 GENERAL MEETINGS

7.1 The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Club shall be held no later than the end of May each year. Twenty-one (21) clear days notice shall be given to members of the Annual General Meeting by posting a notice on the Club website, a post on the Club’s Facebook Page, and an entry in the Warminster Journal. Members must advise the Secretary in writing of any business to be moved at the Annual General Meeting at least fourteen (14) days before the meeting.

7.2 The Chair shall be taken by the President or in his absence the Vice President.

7.3 Nomination of candidates for election of Officers shall be made in writing to the Secretary at least Fourteen (14) days in advance of the Annual General Meeting date. Nominations can only be made by members and must be proposed and seconded by other members (total of three(3) names).

7.4 Extraordinary General Meetings (EGM) may be convened by the General Committee, on receipt by the Secretary, of a request in writing, from not less than ten percent of members of the Club. At least Twenty-one (21) days notice of the meeting shall be given to the members.

7.5 At all General Meetings, the chair will be taken by the Chairperson or, in their absence, by the secretary or treasurer.
8 ALTERATIONS TO THE CONSTITUTION

8.1 Any proposed alterations to the Club Constitution may only be considered at an Annual General Meeting..
9 EXPULSION OF MEMBERS

9.1 Members of the Club whose conduct is found to be inappropriate or who decline to abide by any of the Rules or Bylaws of the club, or bring the club into disrepute may be expelled or suspended by a resolution passed at a meeting of the committee. where their entrance fees and subscriptions may be forfeited. Members shall have the right to appeal in person to the General Committee with regard to any decision affecting themselves, provided that notice of such appeal is submitted to the Secretary, in writing, within seven (7) days of notification of the decision.
10 DISSOLUTION

10.1 If the club should find its self in a position where it can no longer operate due to lack of members and or water, after clearing the clubs debts any remaining assets should be held in trust by a solicitor until such time that the club can restart.

10.2 If the club is put in trust, the members pay £1 to remain members until such time that the club restarts. At this time, the remaining members have the right to join the club.
